Registering a domain name is a fairly simple thing to do. Finding the right Registrar with good prices can be a little more difficult. Some registrars charge a premium price, while others charge a cheap price. What is the difference? Well, there are many factors like how many the buy at wholesale and the service they offer. Those cheap registrars are generally lacking in support, thus the reason for the cheap price.

But an important factor in purchasing a domain name, is the length of time that you register the name. If you purchase a domain name for the maximum duration (10 years), this will tell people, and search engines, that you are here to stay. However, if you are only registering it for 1 year, that does not say I am here for a long time.
